Mississippi RiverKings
The Mississippi RiverKings are a professional minor league ice hockey team. The RiverKings are a member of the Central Hockey League, playing their first fifteen seasons from the 1992•93 season to the 2006•07 season as the Memphis RiverKings.
For their first eight seasons, the team played their home games in the Mid-South Coliseum in Memphis, Tennessee. Since 2000, their home has been the DeSoto Civic Center in Southaven, Mississippi, a suburb of Memphis.
The RiverKings are the oldest continuously operating professional sports franchise in the Memphis Metropolitan Area. They started their 18th year of operation in June 2009.
Afilliation
From 2001-2006, the RiverKings were affiliated with the Toronto Maple Leafs organization. This involved accepting some players on assignment from the NHL club.
