Digital television
Because it was granted an original construction permit after the FCC finalized the DTV allotment plan on April 21, 1997 [1], the station did not receive a companion channel for a digital television station. Instead, on June 12, 2009, which was the end of the digital TV conversion period for full-service stations, KUPB turned off its analog signal and turn on its digital signal (called a "flash-cut"). The flash cut occurred at 9:00am central daylight savings time. KUPB was off-air for 3 minutes.
High definition
On May 3, 2010, at 10am central daylight savings time, KUPB activated its high definition signal in 1080p.
