KIII

KIII, is an ABC affiliate television station broadcasting on digital channel 8 in Corpus Christi, Texas. It is owned by McKinnon Broadcasting, though licensed under "Channel 3 of Corpus Christi, Inc." in the FCC database. Syndicated programming on KIII includes: Seinfeld, Two and a Half Men, Judge Judy, and Live with Regis and Kelly.

History

It was first put on the air in 1964 by McKinnon Broadcasting.

In 1969, KIII started a satellite, KXIX-TV channel 19, to bring ABC programming to Victoria, Texas. In 1976, it was sold to local ownership. It now operates as Fox affiliate KVCT.

On April 29, 2010 it was announced that KIII-TV is in the process of selling this station to London Broadcasting Company, pending FCC approval.[1]
