KHZS

KLJA (107.7 FM) is a radio station broadcasting a Regional Mexican format. Licensed to Georgetown, Texas, USA, it serves the Austin area. The station is currently owned by Univision Radio License Corporation.

History

The station started out with the call sign KJWL in September, 1989. In 1991 the call letters were changed to KNNC and then to KAHK in 1997. The calls were then changed to KTND in 2001 after the station changed formats from 80's hits, to Alternative Rock. In 2003 the station was purchased by Univision Radio from Simmon's Media. The call letters were changed to KINV, and the radio station started broadcasting a Spanish oldies format. On October 1, 2008 it changed to the current format and call sign.[1][2] On October 16, 2009, the Latin pop format was replaced by regional Mexican as "La Jefa."
